Hello moms, I meet you today to talk about hair. As women, but also and above all as mothers. During pregnancy, our hair is also put to the test and it does not necessarily get better after childbirth. I remember that following each of the two births of my daughters, there was no joy on the hair sideā€¦ With the summer season fast approaching, things aren’t going to go any better. Fortunately, there are some tips and good habits to put in place. So, how to take care of your hair in summer?

Take care of your hair with rich and suitable products

In summer, our hair is weakened. Attacks such as sand, salt water from the sea, wind, chlorine from swimming pool water, etc., are all elements that will damage the hair fiber. This is why it is essential to bet on appropriate care and to do it even more regularly than usual. I advise you to favor natural and organic formulas. Some brands are keen to help us in this quest for (almost) perfect hair by offering us products that will enhance our hair! This is the case with Darelle Curls, for example, which offers hair care ssilicone free, sulfate free, paraben free, mineral oil free, phthalate free, artificial color free, fragrance free and not tested on animals. This type of product is made from 99% natural and organic ingredients and will be ideal for this summer. We can even start using them now, in order to have the results for sunny days.

Space out the shampoos

In general, to avoid damaging the hair fiber and irritating the scalp, shampoos are spaced out. Two shampoos per week are more than enough, one every two days if you wish, but that’s the maximum. Indeed, the scalp produces sebum which plays an essential protective role as a barrier against external aggressions. By washing your hair too often, you run the risk of exposing this protection and entering a vicious circle. To protect itself from overly aggressive treatments and repeated shampoos, our scalp will produce even more sebum, which will result in greasy roots. This is why using care without additional products is important. We only bring the essentials to the hair.

Properly care for your hair

To wash your hair, lather only on the skull. It is not necessary to rub the lengths, the product that will flow during rinsing will be enough to clean the lengths of your hair! For care, apply them only on the lengths.

The extra tip: to optimize the effects of your treatments, apply them to dry hair before your shampoo. As a result, the hair fiber will be opened and will allow the active ingredients of your care to better penetrate. Have you noticed that when you color your hairdresser applies it to dry hair? It’s good for the same reason. The product penetrates deeper into dry than wet hair. Leave your treatment on for the time indicated, then rinse. Proceed to your shampoo, then to a conditioner.

Do not abuse heat sources

Beware of repeated heat sources that will dry out and burn your hair. Prefer natural drying or if you don’t have the possibility, opt for a microfiber towel to absorb the bulk. Then apply a protective spray or cream against the heat.

On vacation, we tend to have fun and that’s normal! At the end of the day, we end up with sand all over our hair and hundreds of knots, which leads to completely damaged hair when we return from vacation. However, there is a very simple trick to avoid this and keep all the health and beauty of your hair. Before going for a splash in the pool or at the beach, apply a generous amount of your mask or hair care all over your hair. Then tie your lengths in a bun or braid them. This way the sand and salt won’t stick to your hair and will be gone in no time when you rinse it out! With this trick, you not only protect your hair, but you also nourish it all the time!
